    Research Interests      






    My research goal is to provide seamless multimedia service anytime, anywhere, on any device. In particular, I have studied a multimedia service over Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks and Mobile Ad-hoc networks (MANETs) in depth. Moreover, I have performed many projects related to Future Internet, Cross network, and Application Layer Forward Error Correction (AL-FEC) code. My research interests can be summarized as follows:

  • Scalable Web Service Discovery Technology, DMC R&D Center, Samsung Electronics.

    This is a DHT-based web service discovery application over P2P networks. This application is working on android platform. We tested this on Gallaxy S and Gallaxy Tap with Android Froyo 2.2. We can discover various web services of other mobile users including streaming service and file sharing service using this application without the help of a centralized server.

  • Stable Video Streaminm system using a packetization algorithm for fountain codes, ITRC DEMO 2011 (CENNS).

    We fully implemented video streaming system using JAVA language. This demo shows a performance of the packetization algorithm for LT code compared to traditional system. You can check visual quality and the amount of symbol errors in real time.

  • Stable video streaming system using multiple path and cross-layer approach, FIF DEMO 2009.

    We fully implemented video streaming system using JAVA language. This streaming system can utilize multiple path that includes both homogeneous network and heterogeneous network. If you select multiple network interface, video streaming data is transmitted via multiple path. We use fountain code to provide reliable streaming service and estimate packet loss rate using received signal strength indicator (RSSI).

  • Embedded VoD Service Platform, ITRC DEMO 2008 (CMEST).

    This is Video on Demand (VOD) service platform for embedded system over wireless networks. A Client system is implemented on arm architecture embedded system and a server system is implemeted on Windows system.

  • Atrificial Intelligence: One Card Game, A.I. class project, Spring 2006.

    This is a one card game program. One user and Three A.I. are participated in this game. I defined the cost function and used a modified A* search algorithm to find an optimal solution in polynomial time. It is very difficult to win this game.
